Drew Smith
Electrical Lead
Drew was the Electrical Lead from 2014-2015 following Josh Pritts and was tasked with the fabrication of the electrical systems. He troubleshooted embedded system code and electrical testing with a team of 6 engineering students. Drew also designed the Thruster Control and Power Management PCBs.
KC Jack Nave
Senior Design & Mechanical Lead
KC is a Mechanical Engineer who was a member from 2015-2018. He spearheaded the design of the 2017 RoboSub, Perseverance, as Mechanical Lead. He also led the vehicle test bed senior design project for 2018. He previously served as Mechanical Team Lead and designer on Overwatch.
Sarah Gomez
President &
Business Lead
Sarah is a Mechanical Engineering who was a team member from 2015-2021. She previously was the President for both Scion and Pico managing sponsorship acquisition and team communications. Before that, she was Vice President and Mechanical Project Manager for Perseverance's payload systems.
Pierce Walker-Howell
Software Lead & Electrical Co-Lead
Pierce is a Electrical Engineer perusing his PhD in robotics who was a team member from 2018-2021. He previously served as Software Lead for Perseverance and led the development of the 2020 vehicle's software system, Mech OS. Afterwards he was the Electrical Co-Lead designing Scion's Power Management System and managing Pico's Electrical system.
Christian Gould
Software Lead
Christian is an Applied Math and Computer Science major who was a team member from 2018-2021. He contributed with advanced control systems and precise mission code for Perseverance. Additionally, his efficient system architectures laid the framework for Pico and future robots' containerization.
Tristan Richmond
President &
Business Lead
Tristan is a Computer Engineering student with a minor in Business Administration. He previously managed the electrical system for Perseverance 2022 and lead the team to the Robosub 2022 competition. He also started the food delivery robot project in the same year.
Ian Reichard
Software Lead
Ian is a Computer Science major who was a team member from 2020-2022. In 2021, he wrote the interprocess communication code and the GUI with some drivers. In 2022, Ian lead the software and strategy teams. Wrote OS related, ROS, Computer Vision, AI code and contributed to the Robosub 2022 team
Jean Michel
Electrical Lead
Jean is a Senior Electrical Engineering student who was a team member from 2021-2022. He contributed to the design, assembly, and testing of the 2022 RoboSub vehicle motherboard.
Cameron Zamora
Mechanical Lead
Cameron is a mechanical engineering transfer student now studying at UCLA. He was apart of the team from 2021-2022 and was head of manufacturing for the mechanical team. He helped design, manufacture and test various parts for Pico, Scion and Perseverance. Also taught his peers about various manufacturing processes such as welding, CNC and design for manufacturability.
Tran Ly
President
Tran is a Mechanical Engineering student. She contributed to the mechanical system development, assembly, and testing of the 2022 RoboSub vehicle and ground support equipment design.
Joshua Bondoc
Mechanical Co-lead
Josh majored in Aerospace Engineering who has been a member since 2021. He has contributed to the manufacture and testing of the mounting and the 2022 RoboSub vehicles. Josh was the mechanical co-lead in 2022.
Ken Ishio
Electrical Lead
Ken is an Electrical Engineering major who has been a member since 2021. He contributed to the electrical team for the RoboSub 2022 vehicle and is the current Strategy Lead for RoboSub 2023. Ken was the mechatroncis president for 2023, before his presidency, Ken was the electrical lead.
